Excuses and Hypocrisy–The 2007 HOF Snub of Art Monk.
February 3, 2007

Seriously, are these voters on crack? Because I have a hard time reconciling how a player like Michael Irvin—a great player, deserves the honor he received this afternoon, but with all the problems he had– gets in before Art Monk does? This is one of the biggest crocks in the history of sports in my opinion, and it really makes me think even less of today’s sports media. The only reason why Art Monk is not in the Hall of Fame today is that the football media does not understand that a great football player doesn’t always have to open his mouth to be heard, Terrell Owens.

The thing that really gets my goat about Monk’s snub this year is that rationale that was given is that he didn’t have a signature moment; that he did nothing spectacular that anyone remembers. That is the gayest excuse for keeping a player out of the Hall of Fame that I’ve ever heard, and it’s total bullshit at that. The man caught 940 passes. 940. But you fat, old losers—most of you who never got past high school ball—are keeping the man out because he didn’t give you a sound bite, or he doesn’t have a moment immortalized on NFL Films that you can remember who the hell he is?

Seriously, now; are you all on crack?

Dilfer Has Every Right to Be Pissed
February 2, 2007

Should have kept this dude...

Now, it’s easy to pass this off as Dilfer whining, but the facts are these: Dilfer went 11-1 after replacing Rams castaway Tony Banks. No, he wasn’t Steve Young or Joe Montana, but…neither was Elvis Grbac, who played one year in Baltimore, got them to the playoffs, beat Miami and lost to Pittsburgh, then quit professional football. To this date, this remains the biggest mark on what has been otherwise one of the better front offices in the National Football League.
