it’s this time of year, the playoffs, that I’m reminded how ridiculous this contract is. Of all the potential matchups that could have aired in your house last weekend, all ABC had the time to show you on this opening weekend of the NBA Playoffs was one game—the Lakers v. Suns—and that was all. If you wanted even a sniff of the rest of the openers, you either had to contact your local satellite or cable operator, have Sirius, live in a local market where you could possibly pick up the game over-the-air, or have $150 or more to shell out on playoff tickets. Either that, or run down to a bar that had more than three screens.
