Political Indoctrination for Kids!
August 11, 2007

I know that most folks, as well as the authors, try to spin it as teaching simple things about values to their kids. As if the partisan message of these books would get lost in a simple mathematical formula. However, do we really need to start an American version of Deutsches Jungvolk for our political parties? Is it really that necessary to begin their indoctrination into the American political process, with them being over a decade away from being able to cast an official ballot? Considering that the only thing that these same parents knew about politics when they were kids was either hearing their dad yell at the newspaper, or whatever they got from “The Bill on Capitol Hill” on School House Rock? Kids could care less about the politics that we so-called grown-ups carry on about every day of the week. Do we really need to involve juveniles in this juvenile vitriol we call American politics?

Or would you rather have them playing a Wii?
